Inspired by the staple food item, Kalo, that is grown on every island and has come to represent not only sustenance, but a connection to the cultural spirit of the Hawaiian people. It is a symbol used to denote life and growth. Created by enhancing commercial fabric with hand-drawing/painting, raw edge reverse applique and free-motion stitching.
