Commissions | Linda Oszajca

Linda has been awarded several public commissions. Some were done through the Hawaii 1% for Art Program in conjunction with the Department of Education. These commissions included sculptural projects for new buildings in conjunction with an educational component usually working with a limited amount of students to create a related artwork for the school and to offer workshops for teachers and the public. Other commissions were for public buildings such as a Church, Clinic, Restaurants, Library and Hotels.

The above bas-relief wall mural was installed on the new library of Maukalani Elementary in Makakilo, O’ahu. Each panel is 4′ x 6′ x 5″, carved industrial board and acrylic paint and sealer. And represents the schools Hawaiian chant, “Here are the flowers of Maukalani”.

Chinatown Gateway Plaza

This mural, Faces of Chinatown, is in the lobby of the Chinatown Gateway Plaza Condo in Chinatown near downtown. It was a 1% for art project of the City and County of Honolulu.

Kailua Public Library, Children's Room was overseen by Sheffield & Associates Architects and funded by Pizza Hut and Friends of Kailua Library.
