I am reminded of all the studies . . .I call them portraits . . . of the beautiful exotic plants in Hawaii that I have done. Here is one painting I did for a private residence in Kona, Hawaii on the big Island. I always liked this one because it is at once abstract and realistic. The wild pattern on the leaves is fascinating to me.
Lots of things are starting to happen with my art and teaching! this blog is one of the beginnings. So far I have been posting about my art on my artist facebook page, but starting today I will be adding posts to this blog documenting my projects and offering insights into the creative process. My intentions are to include how-to’s and creative discoveries along the way. I hope you follow along with me and add your comments too.
Over the years Linda Has created several commissions, both public and private. Some commissions have been completed for several Restaurants and Hotels, plus a Library, retirement home and Clinic in Hawaii usually coordinating with architects, designers and Art Galleries. The larger commissions were completed as a 1% for art project both for the state of Hawaii and city and county of Honolulu. These projects are highly competitive and an artist must go through several screenings and competition with other artists. Ms. Oszajca also completed several commissions for private residences and still continues to do this. Linda Oszajca has enjoyed successful collaboration with architects and designers throughout the state of Hawaii. She is always available to offer free estimates for any size job.
Linda Oszajca has created dozens of paintings that grace public and private spaces in Hawaii, California and Colorado. her work reflects her deep love of things Hawaiian and a deep commitment to share the vivid images of Hawaii’s tropical environment.
A recent passion for Linda, in a long line of accomplishments, is a fascination for expressing her images of Hawaii and the southwest using fabrics. Also applying hand-painting and dying techniques and her love of textile surface design, Linda has combined her love of rich, exotic colors, tactile nature of fabric and lush images of nature.
